When I first met with Savannah and Steven, they knew they wanted a rustic romantic wedding in the Summer. We visited lots of venues but nothing seemed to be the right fit. A family member suggested the Thompson’s Mill State Heritage Site in Shedd, Oregon. They had never had a wedding at this location before but it has special meaning to the couple. Savannah’s grandparents helped turn this mill into a state park and helped fix it up.
Savannah loved the color scheme of coral and teal with hints of peach. The decor was simple but romantic.
For the ceremony, they had fan programs because of the heat. The ceremony was decorated with a beautiful arch that the grooms family bought for the wedding. It had loose lace hung on the arch with a couple of wreaths that were made by the grooms sister. The aisle was lined with lace bows on each of the aisle chairs.
The reception had BBQ for dinner and a live band. The centerpieces were different bottles painted in teal and filled with a mixture of white flowers and greenery that we got from Vangs Garden. For lighting, they strung lights from poles the family made.
For dessert, they had a beautiful cake for cutting and cupcakes for the guests. The bride’s grandfather built special cupcake stands for the wedding.
The wedding was beautiful. The whole family was involved in making this wedding happen.
Congratulations Savannah and Steven!
